One of my very favourite things to draw is old bits of china and tiles...slightly faded...a bit broken but still beautiful, they offer a wealth of abstract drawing, painting and collage opportunities. Your sketchbook page with look like a rather rambling and beautiful patchwork quilt by the end of the session and this, in turn, can be used to inspire your other creative interests. The designs on the subjects we are sketching from, are already very illustrative and therefore much easier to draw than a lot of other things so you might find yourself freeing up and making lots of interesting and experimental decisions when it comes to materials and techniques during this class!

The aim of 'drop in and draw' is to provide an  opportunity to practice some techniques at home which you can then use whilst sketching in 'the wild'! Come and draw with me…
