Learn how to create a modern version of Victorian nature journal in this relaxing and mindful drawing workshop.

During this workshop you will learn some techniques for sketching wild flowers and how to document your findings with added field notes and observations. You will learn the 'rules' on how to draw flowers ..and then how to creatively break those rules in order to inject energy and personal interpretation into your sketches.

We will be sketching with pencils, pen, ink and watercolour using techniques that can be easily applied to other subjects. This is a great starting point if you'd like to begin a themed nature journal or garden sketchbook.

You may choose to simply enjoy the sketching and painting of the flowers but, as with ALL Wild Ink workshops, there are so many extra ways to enjoy this project. I will show you my sketchbooks which apply various cut out and collage techniques that you can try with your own flower illustrations. They look like they are literally bursting out of your sketchbook!

Perhaps you would like to create a Victorian style pressed flower sample book where all the illustrations are exhibited as a more scientific collection? I'll show you that too!

This workshop is suitable for all abilities but aimed at those who would like to build on their sketching and painting skills.
